Position Overview: The Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) will lead the organization’s sustainability initiatives, ensuring that environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations are embedded into all aspects of the business. This role will develop and execute the company's sustainability strategy, working to enhance environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and long-term sustainability goals. The CSO will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to drive impactful sustainability efforts that align with business objectives and promote corporate social responsibility.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company’s overall business goals and vision.

Lead efforts to incorporate sustainable practices across all business operations, from product development to supply chain management.

Provide leadership on sustainability-related matters to the executive team and board of directors.

Sustainability Reporting & Metrics:

Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability, including carbon footprint, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and social impact.

Oversee the production of sustainability reports and ensure they are accurate, transparent, and comply with relevant environmental and social standards (e.g., GRI, SASB).

Ensure compliance with sustainability-related regulations and certifications, including green building standards and environmental laws.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, investors, and communities, to advance sustainability initiatives.

Engage with external organizations, regulatory bodies, and NGOs to ensure the company’s sustainability practices are in line with industry best practices and evolving standards.

Innovation & Development:

Identify and evaluate new sustainability technologies, innovations, and opportunities for the business to adopt.

Drive initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and promote circular economy practices.

Risk Management:

Assess potential risks related to sustainability issues, including regulatory compliance, environmental impact, and reputational risk.

Develop mitigation strategies to address these risks and ensure business continuity.

Employee Engagement & Education:

Foster a culture of sustainability within the company through employee engagement programs, training, and internal communications.

Act as a thought leader on sustainability topics and advocate for the integration of sustainable practices into company policies and daily operations.

Sustainability Goals & Impact:

Set measurable and achievable sustainability goals for the company and ensure the integration of these objectives into departmental strategies.

Monitor progress toward goals and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
